  • Spent ALL DAY painting this yesterday

It's a '69 Chevy pickup. The guy that owned the truck wanted his buddy's shop logo on the doors of his truck. When I explained that the pinstriping wouldn't look right with the colors he had on the logo (because of the black striping on the semi-gloss truck), he just decided to leave the striping off altogether. That was fine with me because I was BEAT by the time I got all this done. He wanted "the numbers on the hood like the old stock cars had", so I obliged, even though I wasn't real crazy about them.

    Here's the logo.

    Did the driver's side first.

    Then the passenger side.

    Then the hood numbers.

He mentioned changing the wheels. One can only hope. Also, what you can't really see in the pictures, is the outline and back shadow on the GARAGE letters. I finished up around 10pm, so I didn't have much light to use to take pictures with. I think once this thing gets out in the light, the gloss black will show up a little better.

Hey! Way out there in Cleburne working on Scot's truck I see. Scot is a good guy, and a very talented fabricator.

Thanks. I feel the same way. The wheels KILL it for me. He was talking about changing the wheels, so hopefully those wheels will go to the scrap yard.

I actually did this one at a shop down in Deep Ellum. It belongs to a lawyer buddy of Scot's and he worked right around the corner from this guy's shop. I haven't met Scot, only talked with him back and forth through e-mails.

LOL, thanks. The truck is actually not too bad. I'm not crazy about the flat black, wheels, or hood numbers, but those could be changed easy enough. Did have a healthy sounding big block in it though.

ROFL. Not a battery, that's his carry paint supplies. It's full of REALLY expensive imported squirrel tail hair.
