          I just watched the whole video. Iv seen some vids about liquid salt reactors and the disasters that ensued but I never knew the difference between a lifter and a chemical reactor.
          Thanks for the vid

            I too just watched the whole thing. Needless to say, I've got some research to do, and people to contact.

              Cliff notes:
              LFTR were discovered almost 50-yrs ago in the USA and are in theory very efficient compared to CANDU.
              China is in the process of building a full-size LFTR using some of our data and we are not.

                  Will not happen because of that FUCKING IDIOT named Carter.

                  That turd was not a Nuclear Engineer; he had a 6 month crash course on everything from thermodynamics to neutronics.
                  Submarine school != Nuclear Engineer.

                  Reprocessing fuels is illegal in the United States.

                    If I recall correctly, Carter banned the reprocessing of Plutonium to reduce the chances or nuclear weapon proliferation.

                    Thorium is not capable of nuclear detonation. It also does not need to be reprocessed because it burns much more completely than Plutonium or Uranium. The ban does not apply.

                      But I get the strong feeling that you're not a rocket syentist.

                              Kevin Coster did also.
