    Someone here an apiculturist? Please help me identify this bee.

    Fuckers have nested under the eaves outside our bathroom, and they've managed to get inside somehow. The wife just stepped on this one on accident in our bedroom, any help would be appreciated. Texas rat snake comments expected, and sorry for shitty iPhone pics. Let me know if it's unidentifiable by the pics.

        That first picture tripped me out for a second. Looked like the bee dug his stinger through your wife's skin or something and made that long ass crack LOL.

                Looks like a three-banded Italian (aka Honey Bee). The only way to tell if it's Africanized (the dreaded Killer Bee) is if it's aggressive. 99x out of 100 it's just a plain old honey bee. As hot and dry as it's been, they're seeking water and coming inside places where they normally wouldn't. They're harmless unless you hurt them. My 11 year old daughter loves when they hang around the trash can at the sno cone stand - she feeds them with her straw and has since she was 3 or 4.

                Edit - can you get a pic of the nest or swarm?

                    I beelieve that's an insect of sorts with wings and a stinger. The yellow and black might confirm its part of the charlus brownus family; but the stripes should be zig-zags. Another family it might belong to is the honeynuttlious cherrious. Either way be careful.
