Very deep and lots of things that go boom!!! A couple of my dad's Sqdn's planes are ditched around New Guinea and I would love to dive on them some day.

There are laws forbiding that but mostly just respect for the sanctity of site, is what keeps the divers from it.

But I couldn't help thinking the same exact thing - seeing things I would LOVE to have.

Divers are supposed to respect the environment that they are diving in. That being said, I am pretty sure that it's finders keepers when it comes to stuff in the ocean that isn't wildlife related. I know that you can't take rocks or shells out of the ocean and transport them to a different country.

While snorkeling in Belize last summer, I found a HUGE starfish I wanted to snag but was "enthusiastically encouraged" to leave it alone.

I was diving off the coast of Belize last year and found a Caribbean lobster chilling next to an old anchor off shore. I was temped to eat it, but again, was encouraged not to.

Did you dive that huge reef?

We rented our equipment off of Spanish Lookout Island by the Manatee Sanctuary then dove at Sergeant's Caye on the reef.

                            Fantastic place to dive/snorkel IMO.

I took this pic when we arrived at the Island.
