I've pretty much decided not to buy a job anything truck...

not sure what I'm going to get, but if I get another diesel, it's probably going to be another Cummins

15 dodge diesels to date with pretty much zero issues other than uncomfortable seats and weak AC

The six speed autos are pretty strong stock. We have one customer with one making right at 500 rwhp with zero issues to date. His build is 18 months old, he drives it daily.

I hear that. Why change if you haven't had any problems.

Did you see the part about the A/C. LOL This summer has been brutal if your A/C is a tad weak. Now the A/C in my 02 Ford is pretty dang good however my 95 would flat freeze you out. I havent had this one checked for freon level yet though.

Even though I ride my HD almost everyday. For some reason 108 on a bike is not near as bad as 108 in a car with out A/C.

it works... can't always hang meat in them, but never a "problem"

my 2nd gens were boss, but my 3rd gens have always been somewhat lacking in the AC dept.

still not sure what I'm going to do... I'll probably buy a beater first. The wife and I are sharing a vehicle at the moment! I gotta get something! LOL

Anybody ever figured out why the AC sucks third gen dodges.

My 06 is pretty bad on 90*+ days. Not unbearable, but my back will sweat.

Mine was a tad low from the factory on freon, and I've haÐ to add a can recently. Might check pressures.

Might be a defective blend door or recirculation door. think there was a TSB on 06 models

That is probably a dash out repair.

My high and low side pressures are fine, recently replaced compressor and accumulator.

Some are, my recirc door broke a couple of months back, so far it looks like a dash out repair. think some have done blend and recircs dash in though. so far I haven't figured out how to.
One trick I've heard works well is to install a cut off valve in the heater core hose, that prevents the heater core from heating up at all. That helps quite a bit even if the heater core isn't leaking hot air into the air box.

This is actually a good one...I've done it myself. That crappy design has hot coolant running through the heater core all the time, and in the summer the only thing separating it from the evap core is some plastic....so killing that source of heat is a pretty big help. It was worth about 8 degrees at the vent in mine, which doesn't seem like much, but it actually is in this kinda heat we've been having.
