I was blocking southbound University traffic at I30 when he stood up and started yelling at me (us). He lowered the forklift and pointed the tines right at windshield level while in a fit of rage. He was northbound going to turn left onto I30, and he straightened it up to come right at us. I was thinking "Holy shit, this MF'er is going to try to spear us" and I grabbed reverse. I'm 100% convinced he was going to run us through. I backed up and he then turned left and onto the entrance ramp.

I will tell you that it's very hard to remember that you are a person paid to do your job instead of a person who this guy just tried to kill. This is the very reason police officers go overboard, because they cannot control the emotion and adrenaline in times like this.

There were more than enough units there to take care of the chase part, so I was just going to stop traffic at the intersection so nobody got hurt.

Then we followed to keep traffic back off of the initial units in the "chase".

I don't think it ever got up to 20 mph.

It wasn't really a body slam. I just helped him to the ground by pushing on his back. I was holstering the Taser with the other hand. You don't ever want to go hands-on while having a weapon in your hands.
