I posted up awhile back on opinions for a new car after my wife's Cobalt got totaled. Well we opted for the Fiesta like many suggested on here. It has about 1500 miles on it so far and we love it. Sync,6 speed auto transmission, led lighting, and nice interior. Not bad for a subcompact car, I don't see the complaints about the 6 spd auto, IMO.

i HATE those things. my little brother got one, its ridiculously small inside and i'm not even that big (6'2 and 220lbs) and he's same height but 260. He looks retarded crawling out of that thing. but they're cheap, thats a plus i guess. I wouldnt be caught dead in that mofo.

FWIW, Heard it's actually going to be a 1.0 liter, 3cyl ecoboost motor. Pushes a few more horses as well as gets better MPG.

obviously not the coolest cars but I drive a TDI beetle for the same reason so I sacrifice looks for MPG's the 40-42 mpg rocks!.. I just roll with the dark tinted window up all the time in the beetle
I had to drive my excursion a few blocks away last night and had to stop and put $10 in just to make sure I'd make it there and back... sad... the beetle could have gone several days on $10 but couldn't fit the two bikes in it that I was selling.

I have the six speed power shift automatic and it was a little jerky at first but that was back at 80 miles on the odometer. I'm now just over 5,000 miles and everything runs and sounds great.


For what it's worth there is talk of some of these people on Fiesta forums getting just under 60 miles per gallon out of their cars.
