    Fuggin A man.
    Congrats on the jump.

I remember my pre-jump vid and felt kind of awkward but the jump was pure freaking amazing!

BTW - I tried to hate the band but just couldn't. Not bad at all. I dig `em.

        Skydiving is sooooo GAY!

and P.S., i doubt you'll ever be a tandem instructor. If i had a nickel for every whuffo that told me they were going to get their TI cert, well, you can figure out the rest. Hell, I'd rather my wife jump with somebody else, that way if shit hits the fan at least i'm still around.

EDIT: why didnt your instructors do COA's? (circle of Awareness) are they not teaching that in AFF anymore? You flew very well for a big boy. Most flop all over the sky, girls generally do alot better to begin with. by chance is that tatted up guy's name Mark? looks sorta like a guy i used to know at Skydive Houston that had a 350z.

          Heh...

You wanna put some money on that assumption?

EDIT: His name is Josh. The large majority of these guys stay in this little hippy/jumpers compound in their off time from military. They have been all over, but this is where they come to unwind.

lolz. *shrugs* nah, but I think Roscoe and other experienced jumpers would tend to be in agreement with me. Not knocking you AT ALL, I was once in your shoes oh, about 10 years ago.

I know, man. I'm just giving you shit.

Ultimately, my wife and I both like getting certifications. I never intended to go for my Tandem Instructor's license. She said that she would jump with me only, so it has become something for us to share.

cool cool. I never had any interest in any of that stuff, hell i didnt even pay for any of my licenses past A, and i'm qual'd (technically) for D, easily. fuck buying B, C, D 50 bucks a pop PLUS case of beer for each one. thats alot of money in jumps! hell just doing my SCR cost me a small fortune in beer which mostly all ended up on my head (no, not in it, on it) Try jumping at a DZ that has a bigger plane, my personal favorites are the twin otters, skyvans and mike mullin's King Air (if its still around). They'll get you up to altitude quicker in relative comfort and 14k feet instead of 7!

My first jump was at Skydive spaceland and the plane was much bigger. It had benches down both sides in order to allow 20 to jump comfortably, and maybe 30 packed in. We went to 14k then.

This jump was 11k and as you can see the four of us were packed in tight. I actually liked the adrenaline rush of stepping out onto the wheel before jumping. There's just something about littler planes that I prefer.

I still say my favorite part of this jump was looking up to see my chute was twisted a few turns. There I was alone with something that needed to be addressed. It was everything I could have asked for.

That's what the instructor's were saying. Their packs were so damn small!!

Jenn was on the ground watching me come in and said these dudes came in so fucking hot, nearly horizontal, and then stall it out leaving them with a gentle touch down in a fucking hula hoop.

I wish there would have been more people their to do their certification so that I could have seen them come in like that. When they go up for a tandem they (instructors) looked so bored. Going up with me they had excitement hidden deep within their stoic faces.

These guys will see who can land closest to a certain spot without injury or damage to the equipment. One go around the "spot" was the wind sock pole. My instructor landed at the top of the pole and slid down like a fireman.

my dumb ass once jumped a friend's rig with 120 lightning (and i'm 220 lbs). Fuck, that was a ride. my friend was not too happy about the cutaway and losing his rig for the day, and the SSTA even less so because i tried to kick out of it all the way down to about a grand (its insane how much faster those things drop compared to what i usually jumped which was a 170). good thing he didnt have a AAD or shit could have been alot worse. heh.

And uhh... No, I can say that it wasnt exactly a blast. It was a combination of experience and stupidity that got me down to 1k feet, because I felt like I could kick out of the twists, even though I was being spun around in a circle on my back. i'm LUCKY i didnt black out, and that i finally was like.. hrmmm.. i have to be fucking low and cut away. the less experienced and honestly less cocky version of me from when i first started would have probably cut away almost instantly. Most deaths in skydiving are from scenarios exactly like mine or very similar. If you have a desire to "almost die", dont waste your time with skydiving. get your 100 jumps in, and go to Idaho and take the BASE course. You'll get your wish, and the "almost die" can very easily change to "die" in a matter of seconds.
