I'd have a hard time not giving my name. Maybe it is my right or something not to say my name, but fucking normal people, who are just doing their thing tell the cops their name if asked. Jesus.

To me, it makes you suspicious if you refuse to give your name.

Guy was a complete ass hat, but the officer was cool as hell. Walking the streets with a gun and no identification is just fucking stupid.

Very impressive LEO. Wished all were this level headed.

I don't know where that happened, but if there was any reason for a stop/detention in Texas, than he is compelled to provide his information.

If it was a citizen contact, he would not be required to provide information. If this was in fact just a contact, I wonder what the law is there for examining an open carry weapon.

And I believe 100% if the contact would have started with the younger officer that showed up as back up, it would have went differently. Policing is an art that takes maturity. Take a look at all the bad examples you see on the net and I would almost guarantee that 99% of those officers have less than 10 years experience.
Oceanside...(I'm guessing Cali). I would think that would behoove the asshat civilian to be a little more courteous to the officer and fellow Marine.
