6.4's are definitely maintenance hogs and minus the shitty radiators aren't too bad. Fuel economy was just piss poor though. Wasn't around long enough after the 6.7's came out to properly judge them."Any dog under 50lbs is a cat and cats are pointless." - Ron Swanson

I've got a 09 on the road now that just hit 90k and it has been in for one repair involving a radiator hose. Only trip to dealer since new.
I have seen several HPFP failures but almost all of those were due to owners not changing the filter. I know two people who had it happen. One was at 30k miles and it had never had a fuel filter, the other at 80k miles and it had the underhood filter replaced once and the framerail filter was oem.

My best tank with bullshit on was 15.8, the exact same as without.
My worst tank not towing was 11.7. Worst tank after is a little over 13.
Overall I did see an improvement, just not what I expected. I expected highway to be much better with 3.55 gears.

Bio-fuel is the big bitch. During cold weather, bio-fuel gels up, and clogs up the fuel system. What a bitch. Warranty doesn't cover that BTW.
EDIT: They had a couple of PCM problems. Usually it was because of aftermarket chips though. The PCM's in new vehicles don't like being fucked with improperly."Any dog under 50lbs is a cat and cats are pointless." - Ron Swanson

I put the same set up on a friends 08 and his mileage is about the same as mine, but he has 3.73 gears.
We a both on stock 20" wheels with stock 34" tires. He has a 38' fifth wheel and he did pick up almost 1 mpg hwy towing.
My two best tanks are all highway, which is 15.8 mpg. I have right over 12k miles on it and it will be a year old end of next month. About to change the oil a fuel filters.

International told ford that the 6.4 will be the most reliable engine they produce for ford. But only time will tell. By this time next year I will have over 100k miles and I bet my truck still won't have anything wrong with it in that time.
