If I was him I'd been tempted to beat that driver's ass after the stage was completed!

Hoogerland (in the fence) had to get 33 stitches. Luckily the next day was a rest day and now he's back in it.

No time. He's still in the polka dot jersey (leader of the King of the Mountain points race) so he had to go straight to the podium.

I'm not real into this shit, but for some reason I got sucked in over the weekend for one stage of it. Everything was mostly uphill and the guys were really making a run for it!

All the cars and motorcycles driving around made me a little curious as to why the organizers would allow them to be so close to the riders. Although they didn't hit anyone while I was watching, they came close on multiple occasions. If I was a rider, then I would have a real concern! Especially after seeing these pictures of a guy tossed into a barb'd wire fence.

And as a side note... I just read that on his rest day, after getting the stitches he made a 25 mile training ride!

You will see mechanics leaning out of car windows setting derailleurs at 30 mph. Over the years, there have been several nasty wrecks involving support/press vehicles.

25 miles to those guys is merely a warm-up to keep the lactic acid from settling in the legs so they can go tomorrow.

He's said that he'll get it fixed (surgery) when he retires. It doesn't affect performance so taking any unnecessary risk with his legs when they are his livelihood would be a retarded decision.

He's got to be close to 40 now. I guess us old guys start falling apart eventually. I thought those varicose veins could be kind of painful more than harmful.

A few years ago I had an 8 year old neighbor with downs syndrome. When I would see him he would point to random things and say grasshopper. He could be pointing at a mailbox, a car, a dog, or even his house but every time it was a grasshopper to him. Having said that...your earlier quoted comment is the most retarded thing I have ever read!

Let's face it, this is DFWMustangs and people say stupid shit, but you sir define the word asshole.

Why do they have so many damn cars on the road while racing? I mean, what the hell do they expect to happen?
