Even though your truck is not new, I enjoyed seeing it. I love that body style and appreciate the people that take care of them. Good looking truck.

Not terrible, but last year on the same trip in my Dodge I had the wife and all her crap, towing my Mustang on the trailer, floor jack and some tools too....it got 17 loaded. I know that's an apples and oranges comparison though.

my wife's truck is a 2010 supercrew 4x4 lariat with the 5.4...it gets about 14mpg empty (average)... it's about the same as her '04 f150 with the same specs (4x4, supercrew, 5.4). it's supposed to get better mileage with the new trans, but i haven't seen it. of course, it only has about 7500 miles on it, now, so maybe that will happen after some break-in mileage.

I dont want to spend a bunch of money on something that I wont drive that often. I can drive my company vehicle as much as I want for personal use, and my GF has her car so.
I'll drive that beast up there for cheap... You pay gas and plane ticket back.

My real world results with stock 06 F150 SC 5.4 4x4 show an average of 17mpg mixed driving. Towing two ATV's with 12' ATV trailer averages 12-14 hwy.

Badass! I already have 2700 on mine and each tank is getting better and better gas mileage. Doing almost all city driving and a lot of idiling I am right around 19.2-20. I drove down to Austin last week with the car on cruise almost the whole way (around 67) and got 24.2. On the way up I was doing 80 pretty much the whole way and got 21.7. I put a access lorado bedcover on and saw a 1 mpg increase.

The truck is extremely quiet, comfortable, and can get up and go pretty good. As quiet as the turbos are I LOVE it when I can hear them. The factory bluetooth phone option is freaking awesome and no one can ever tell they are on speaker.

Since we are talking about mileage... my very first tank was 150 miles of city 200 of highway and I averaged 17.1 hand calculated. The computer said 18.2. Should be filling up again this week and we will see what it says. Last tank was from the dealership, so I dont know if it was REALLY full.

Its weird not having a gas cap.

That's the thing....I don't know what I'd replace it with. Their offer is good until this Thursday though...still thinking on it.

Yeah, I can't seem to win....I went from a shit truck with a great engine to just the opposite.

Seriously though...the 5.4 doesn't run bad, it's just a serious gas hog. After all these years driving 3/4 and 1-tons, I'm more used to a "trucky" feeling truck I suppose....this thing is more like a luxary car with a box on the back. I'm the hardest damned person I know to please!

Maybe I should try daily in some sort of car for a while. Hmmm....C6's get good MPG I hear!

                      Yup...3-valve 5.4.

That's about the same I'm getting except mine is a 2WD. It just turned 12K miles recently. I don't feel that I drive it hard either....actually probably more of an easy driver in it....probably b/c I'm always trying to be easy on it b/c of the fuel sucking....I hate having that feeling all the time too.

BTW, on floor mats....I bought the Husky Weather Beaters for mine, and they have been great! They fit perfectly and match the truck very well...also a snap to clean up being all rubber...and don't trap dog hair like the fiber ones tend too. I love the way the edges rollover to the outside. The rear area mat covers the whole floor too....no complaints at all on these....I think they were around ~$170 to my door and they were money very well spent!

Why not take their offer and go to an Ecoboost?

What did they offer you? We have the same truck and I see the same shitty mileage you are getting as well...
