  • WTF?? Rear/mid mount turbo mustang

    complete build
I have noticed some increased interest in rear mount turbos. Since I had decided to do one myself I thought I would share some pictures of my build....

Maybe his heater went out and this was a cheaper route?

EDIT; or he has the A/C pointed at it for a cold air intake?

I bet that bitch makes some cabin heat and is hella loud when it spools, better roll with the windows down so it doesn't pull a vacuum on the interior lol.

pulled the link up, didn't see any pics. Did you have to have an account?

That's probably easier than replacing the heater core....

Hope that turbo never starts leaking oil.

I like it. Thinkin outside the box. Probably one of the easiest turbo installs.
Why put off till tomorrow what you can put off till the next day?

                        whoa.

Aside from the obvious hackjob - they cut the area RIGHT next to the torque box and didn't box/brace it in any fashion. Not to mention the rear down bars are welded to sheet metal AND the car is minitubbed.

EDIT - looked at the link, looks like it has ladder bars..

I have to admit, I like the idea of a rear mount. After realizing how much heat comes from a turbo kit under the hood (a stock one at that) it would be nice to get all of that out of the engine bay altogether. HOWEVER, I can't believe someone would put that shit INSIDE the car! That's just plain retarded. I don't care if it works or not!
