Still remember back in the 90's when Kenji Okazaki was driving the Mooneyes car for Jim Dunn & that happened. Body came up, Kenji has the wheel in his hand as he gets out of the car.. Steve Evans walks up with the mike, Kenji pulles helmet off & his eyes were HUGE! All Kenji could say was... "wheel come off..."

LMAO! And I only laugh because he didn't get hurt. He looked a little confused and didn't know what he needed to do once that wheel came off, lol.

Looks like it could be the fuel cut off. It sounded to me like the engine died when he pulled it.

LMAO... I know EXACTLY how this guy feels... The Turbo Rail had a removable steering wheel and I didn't latch it once at Sanger.
I launched on street tires and the steering wheel came off. Luckily I was able to reach the steering shaft and steer... still ran an 8.1 or something like that haha...

Pucker factor was WAY up... (and yea I know I should have let out.. but I felt like I had it under control... stupid I know)

Should the car gotten squirrely, it would have gone bad real quick.

Just keep a pair of vice grips under the seat, and you're good to go.

                              He's grabbing for the chute.

Has no one ever seen an alcohol dragster run before? All that revving up is part of their starting line procedure, NOT a burnout.
