242mi back to my driveway and a lil over 1/4 tank left. Not bad for a 82k mile '06 SUV/crossover. The best part is it's almost paid off. I cannot frrggin wait!
How big is the tank? If it's 3-5 gallons, that is impressive.
On my SVT focus I can kiss 400 miles on an 11 gal tank on the highway.
13 gallon tank, never put more than 11.5 in it w/ the gas light on. It's gettin better than what it's rated @ 70+ mph even through the hills in East Texas.
They must be better than the new hondas. My wifes 4cyl 10 model accord won't get better than 31 staying right at 60 mph.
Best at 75-80 is 28 mpg. Worst tank since new is 23 mpg. Now has 30k miles. Next ride will be a prius I hope.
FWIW, I've always run synthetic in it. I'm sure it helps a lil but I haven't a clue how much. It also has Michelin Hydro Edge tires which are part of the Energy family that are sposta help w/ fuel usage.
No. Am I supposed to feel inferior because I drive a Honda CR-V? It suits my 4 person family perfectly, it's economic, reliable and very comfortable.
that's great; I have no problem with that. I even have a Honda for a daily driver.
I do think it's funny that you're like, "Not bad for a 82k mile '06 SUV/crossover." As if 82k miles (or 5 yrs old, for that matter) should somehow significantly affect gas mileage.

I can go that many miles on 3/4 tank (and, BTW, it's been paid off for a very long time ). That doesn't say anything about my mileage though.
Ok, I percieved your comment incorrectly. I apologize.
The mileage and model were stated because, and I should have clarified, it's been driven hard and suv's aren't known for being fuel efficient.
Theoretically, I can go as much as 710 miles on my 18.5 gallons...but it's nowhere near paid off, so you got me there! I've never gone more than 650 on a tank though, I chickened out.
It's a 2005 Audi A4, btw.
