Finally watched the video. A little sloppy at first which could just be the tires coming up to temp. A little aggressive style which is fine...but they need to REALLY work on the shock package. That thing was bouncing around like a 911 with blown front shocks.

Also, could they not afford a quality camera mount that wouldn't move around? Jeesh!

Let me just drop this turd right here in the punch bowl....

www.chumpcar.com (more racy and less drama) or www.24hoursoflemons.com (more drama/fun and less racy) both are equally fun and addicting. Decent venues and tons of seat time with lots of good folks. It's kind of a madhouse and you will be out there with shit drivers (if i'm there), but it is a total blast.

oh, and my Mustang is for sale! Cobwebs included.
Trust me, you have no idea how appealing that idea sounds. It's not as much a money thing as it's a time thing. Wife is going through some health issues and work is pretty busy (I work through lunch so I can jack around a little bit on car boards), so traveling around racing is not in the cards right now. Maybe sometime in the next year or two and I'd be happy to talk to you to get the inside gouge plus any stuff/services you may have to offer to make my racing successful, so I get picked up by the Red Bull F1 team after a year or two.

Last two tracks days at MSR have been with Apex. Good group of guys there and yes, I've learned some stuff already from the advanced instruction on better lines into certain PITA corners. Still working on slowing it down a notch on corner entry and not clipping corners.

Biggest lesson I've ever learned is the ZR1 school I got to do at Spring Mountain outside of Vegas. Rick Malone, their chief driving instructor, was in a 430hp Grand Sport Corvette and I was in front of him in one of the schools 638hp ZR1 Vettes. It was a lead-follow for a few laps. I had been looking forward to this because I was going to kick Rick's ass in front of all the other students.....

Well, suffice to say, that didn't quite work out. On the long back straight on their 2.2 course, I would get a few carlengths on him, but the rest of the track he was right on my ass. On top of him staying right behind me, he was talking on the radio and pushing the talk button with one hand. He knew I would try to shake him on the back straight, so he would slow down to get a good run and hit turn 7 just perfect and come out of that corner a good 15mph faster than me because I would divebomb the corner, car would be loose, I'd straighten it out, and finally roll back into the gas to 100% a good 100 feet past the Apex. It was an incredible lesson for me. 208hp couldn't make up my crappy lines and entry/exit to key corners that Rick obviously had down pat.

    Food on the table?! LOL!

Racing has pissed away a small fortune, a marriage and tons of broken parts for me. I made money one year at it with a sponsor, but you might as well take cash and light it on fire in a bucket while trying to put it out with $1000/bottles of wine.

I've taken the last year and half off from racing and just running events while sometimes bringing a car with me. Much more relaxing and 10X less expensive trying to stay at the top of the Arms Race.

As far as getting better for you. Ask for the advanced instruction at Apex...it helps a bunch. We are also going to be doing it soon at our school, I just need to pick my instructors so I am not working so much!

    Good luck!

I find it funny that someone else was rubbed the wrong way by Ginsberg! He's a quirky little dork but has been around a while and does know some good stuff. He's actually a pretty decent ambassador for the CMC group....just have to get past him first.

I would say there is plenty left in that ZR1. I've run 19's around cresson in a Gallardo spyder with a passenger. Crazy cars. With traction, the ZR1 should be deep into the 19's, maybe 18's. Get seat time. Car can only do what the driver is capable of.
I was told a 22 clockwise is under 20 ccw, not sure I have sub 20 in the car clockwise unless I put some better rubber under the car and get some more seat time. Either way, I think I have another second or two with better lines. I am notorious for divebombing a corner, clipping it, and not having the car settled enough for full throttle until past the apex, which obviously isn't the fastest way. Something about slower in, faster out being a better technique.

On the mix-up, I don't think I have met Adam and I don't have anything against him, I just didn't buy the 18's with a CMC car from what I understood CMC cars to run. That was the source of my confusion.

I'm a 4-6 weekends a year weekend warrior at local tracks, so I'm not planning on using my car driving ability to put food on the table anytime soon. And, putting my chest puffing and DFW Stang smack-talk aside, I am quite sure I wouldn't want to put money on being able to run with you with both of us in equal cars. I know my limits.

We had to push it backwards to start it that day too! LOL! I sometimes wish it were still a street car!

Winning a lemons event is losing it's status...many people have done it right Eric! Actually, we have had a pretty good record with lemons. top 5 finish 4 out of 6 times I've run it. Hope to return in october with the neon for some serious ass kicking! We are finally going to lower it to stock ride height! LOL!

Trust me, I've driven WAY nicer cars than your plastic vette and never needed more than someone asking "please drive my car" because they want to learn something.

Sponsorship..? If you don't know, most of the guys you see running in lower rank pro series PAY for those rides...sometimes to the tune of $25k a weekend for 1/2 of the race.

Again, just because you wrote a check for a car doesn't make you fast...that is the Porsche syndrome going for you.

Hell, I've seen you drive and might put $10 on Trueblue running you down in a crown vic!

I guess I will finish this post with "Do you know who the fuck I am?!"....obviously you don't!

There, now we have a new pissing contest in this thread! LOL!
