Oh, I'm 3-3 running from cops in 3 different cars: Honda Prelude, Honda S2000, and '01 Corvette. Note: I am just making the previous sentence up to look cool on the internet.
Extending the corners by slowing down does nothing to increase the speed/time.
I don't know about many on here, but I've been in over 20 high speed pursuits and I've never gained an advantage by leaving the roadway. Instantaneous surface changes at speed can lead to an end to a chase, or race depending on the situation. The best way to carry speed through a corner is to brake early, and turn into the apex making the corner as straight as possible. When you turn, you induce braking and can reduce your need to brake by using the pedal and you can get on the gas earlier.
I have an 17-3 record in pursuits, and two of those were called off. That says alot when you are chasing a vehicle with a better power to weight ratio than a under powered 4 door cruiser.
I chased this guy for about 12 minutes before I called off this pursuit, but still ended up getting him thanks to a little old lady....
I just can't friggin' believe you are questioning Jim Mero's lines on the Ring. The dude could smoke your ass in a V6 Camaro around the Ring with you driving a ZR1.
Put your money where your mouth is. Buy my ticket.

I'll buy your ticket when you can run a faster lap time than me at MSR with both of us driving YOUR car. Until then, why don't you go hoop it up with Dirk and show him what's up.

Yeah? Well Jim Mero has the record for fastest production car lap at The Ring... and $5 says he'd never be pompous enough to tell you how to make an arrest.
Seriously, dude. Get over yourself on this one. Fort Worth cop vs. The driver GM chose to put in the hot seat right behind Magnussen and O'Connell, the Corvette C6-R drivers? I'll dug up his email address so you can send him some driving tips.

It didn't take much of an effort to get you guys drove up on this one.
And yet again, when someone gets their ass handed to them in a thread, they pull out the "I was just joking/pushing buttons/making an epic thread" bullshit.
