More water is flowing from Lake Oahe and Gavins Point Dam than ever before.
Just hours ago, the Army Corps of Engineers increased output at Gavins Point Dam to a record 120,000 cubic feet per second. Oahe Dam is now at 140,000 CFS.
To give you some perspective, on average Niagara Falls releases just 100,000 CFS. They may be man-made, but that means South Dakota is now home to two of the world's most powerful waterfalls.
