Stay on 'em. Transporters are notorious for ignoring claims or half-assing them. Make sure they cover it all and make sure it's to YOUR satisfaction.

I agree. You need to wear them out with pics and estimates. You have a great looking car and it sucks out loud that this is the way you get to first enjoy it.

It sucks but everyone is human, people make mistakes. I always use the same shipper and I've had great results.

I don't understand. Everyone makes mistakes. The shipping company is going to pay for the damages so why rip on them so much.

I'd definitely have the brakes checked or check them just to be sure though for your own safety.

With that said, yes mistakes are made and it's nothing that can't be fixed. Be nice if they covered the damages and gave you a little discount though considering the hassle you have to deal with.

Because they keep blaming the car for their problems.

Got a estimate yesterday from Advantage Auto Works. $3700. Talk to to transport company today and they're sending a adjuster, so we'll see. Having a hard time finding the headlight bezels though. The owner has built a few Galaxie's and told me they can go upwards of $200 for one in good condition. Or buying one for $50 plus and having them re-chrome.

It was also my first time driving it beside around the block. From Haslet to NRH, which wasn't fun in 100' heat w/ stop and go traffic on 820. Learned allot about the car too. The rear suspension is shit, i keep hearing a pop in the right rear and every time it hit a bump it would bottom out. Well i look under the car and the guy cut the leafs and it on blocks. The steering has allot of slop and every time you hit the brakes it pulls to the right. And she was was overheating. So i have some work to do. I ordered new leafs, shackles, shocks and bushings from Eaton Detroit today. That will get me started for now. Engine was running strong and cranked every time so thats good.
You remember the stories John use to tell us about the the three chinamen playing Fantan? This guy runs up to them and says, "Hey, the world's coming to an end!" and the first one says, "Well, I best go to the mission and pray," and the second one says, "Well, hell, I'm gonna go and buy me a case of Mezcal and six whores," and the third one says "Well, I'm gonna finish the game." I shall finish the game, Doc.

No matter what I did, every FE I had ran hot during our Texas summers, and I had several. It might help to dial the timing back a little (they like to pre-detonate with the heat, too).
