  • Updates to the 1997 F150

I posted a thread about this truck when I first got it and put the engine/wheels/tint/bed cover on it, so I figured I'd update it.

I had the front end gone through and several parts replaced (it has 158k miles on it). I ordered new headlights and taillights also.

The only thing left is to paint the grill.

I'd like to take it to a body man and get the tail gate cleaned up:

That looks good. You could move alot of houses with that bed. I don't think the tailgate would be that much to fix. You already put enough money into it with the engine, etc. Might as well fix the tailgate.

Yea, I lucked out. That's about a straight as you will ever find 14 year old truck.

Especially with a long bed. Most people just start using them as work trucks and beat on them.

That was really the last version of ford trucks I liked. I don't care for the box style trucks out right now.

It was a work truck for a company that fixed church pipe organs.

Funny you should say that about the new trucks. I have a 2011 F150 Supercrew with the 5.0L.

          Nice avatar, BTW....

Nice improvement from when you guys got it. How has the new motor been doing?

Its nice to see well taken care of vehicles no matter the type.

The motor is good. I changed the oil at 1k. The only thing I may need to do is clean or replace the injectors.

Good looking truck. I typically hate the looks of long beds.

That truck is just as clean or cleaner than my 2003 was when I traded it in last year. Hopefully your son will appreciate it and it will survive HS. I know I got lucky in HS and even though I did a few stupid thing I never damaged my mustang.

Here's a reminder pic of how the truck started out:

I'd take the molding off the side but other than that it looks good!

The only reason I kept it on was the fact that it's about to spend the next 3 years parked in a High School parking lot.
