The response to this video would have been completely different if one of those irresponsible speeding riders ran overs someone's kid playing outside.

I'm of the opinion that the locals are tired of people hauling ass through there on their bikes, passing in turns, double yellow lines and so on. I really understand what would prompt a local to do something like that.

It's not like the riders are all innocent.

Was the driver of the pickup truck right? No - but it appeared to me they were all speeding. Also the bike passed on a part of the road that is double yellow, most likely speeding at that time.

It maybe fun to haul ass on those speed machines on country roads, but understand some people may not appreciate it.

My problem isn't the people that are intentionally trying to hit - they are few and far between. It's the people that don't pay attention behind the wheel because they feel they need to text, talk on their phone, yell at their kids, put on makeup, eat, etc... - Those are the ones that keep me off of a bike.

I see that side too. And if the driver wasn't so persistent in chasing down the first rider, the cameraman would have probably blazed past the truck as well.

Passing a truck carrying a load like that around a turn. ...how does the rider think he's worthy of taking the risk of hitting someone coming the other way, hitting a pedestrian, etc etc?

That video shows a fed up local doing something stupid out of anger, and shows self absorbed riders doing something stupid and don't even realize it.

As true as that may be, that doesn't give the jackass in the truck the right to take matters into his own hands by attempting to kill someone on a motorcycle.

Too bad he missed him. I live on a curvy road similar to that one, and those assholes on those fucking bikes race down it all hours of the night. Fly up on your ass, pass on blind corners, etc. I know its not EVERY rider, but that shit is annoying.

Agreed. The bigger issue here is that locals are taking matters into their own hands and not letting the law handle the issue.

I had the same shit happen to me on 377 heading to Granbury one day. Dick that thought he was a cop chased me down for going 70 in a 60. He pulled up beside me, looked me dead in the eye and cut the wheel into the same space I was occupying. I got the hell out of there when I realized he had a divider in the back of his Subaru containing a very large Rotweiller, and didn't want to find out the exact caliber of his pistol. Then he pulls up behind me at a light and is still bitching about me speeding while about 10 other cars are bitching at him for trying to kill me and my buddy. Dude honestly thought he was justified. The state trooper did not find the incedent in his favor.

Anyone who road rages like that has other serious issues going on their lives they need to deal with.

Sometimes country/personal law is more effective. Fact is those riders are probably long gone by the time the cops can typically get there. Cops tend to be unable to effectively handle those problems for a variety of reasons.

Angry or not though, you cannot do what that driver did. Seems to me they need some speed trap setup there or another deterrent.

Sadly, it is not a good situation.

I don't understand another drivers need to be vigilante, the best thing would be to get as far away from the trouble as possible be it car or bike. let them pass, so fucking what if they are flying up behind you, they can stop in a far shorter distance than a car can. I have seen F350's pass on double yellow, I don't think this douche would have tried to run a truck off the road...

So what if this guy passed on a blind corner, if darwin wants him he will take him, so what if some old lady's buick need a new front end...the rider is going to be scraped up off the pavement.

Death is a sufficient deterant for me personally.

I am sure everyone in this thread uses their blinkers and observes the posted limit at ALL times.

FWIW Roads are public, the guy acted like he owned it because he drove on it everyday, and his driveway touched it. I bet he still owes on that truck and probably doesn't own the trailer he lives in, but this guy thinks he owns the road...

It's like being pissed there are train tracks right in front of your house, but you moved in anyway.
