Yeah, I know this guy, his name is Cameron, he lives in Kansas and the car is a old retired police interceptor and the engine is a 4cyl mechanical injected turbo diesel cummins out of an old bread delivery box van. He is a mitsubishi tech and a extremely sharp guy. You should see the exhaust header he made for this thing, looks like machine tig welds. He put a turbo off a late model 6cly 3/4 ton on it but didnt like it I think so he went back to the smaller turbo. Has the auto trans out of the 3/4ton with overdrive even working and gets like 35mpg cruisin it. And uses it to pull his quad trailer and stuff. Sweet ride, everyone gave us all kinds of wierd looks as we cruised around KU campus in it

They aren't super powerful motors, but from what I know they can be turned up just like their big brother the 6bt. They are super tough and over built like crazy. They will last a very long time in a light duty road car. They are in all kinds of industrial equipment, but the prices I find are pretty damn high for used motors. The best bet would be to buy an entire delivery truck with this drivetrain for a donor. This is a very popular motor to swap into jeeps and has been done many times.

I would LOVE to get one for my postal Jeep, I'd pull the small block Chevy out of it in a heartbeat to put in a 4BT.
I wonder if my poor old well worn Powerglide could handle the torque? LOL.
