the shop should be responsible IF its due to faulty installation.
depending on who his insurance provider is he should get back market value for the car with the modifications.
when my 91 mustang was stolen my insurance company gave me market (mid teens) for a fully built car (I had receipts and pics and dyno sheets). I didn't get back what was invested but it was enough to buy a comparable car already built. So if he can afford a car like that and that much money in mods on top of it I'm sure he doesn't have some shitty insurance company that'll bend him over.1971 Ford Torino - Time to go bigger and better.
