  • Ram long hauler?

What yall think bout this? It'd be good for a hot shot truck or rodeo ride.
It’s just a concept right now, but Ram‘s Heavy-Duty based Long Hauler, is already making waves.Based on a Class 5 Heavy Duty Chassis Cab, it features an 8-foot long dually pickup box and extra fuel provisions – a 60 gallon resevoir mounted between the cab and the bed, plus a further bed mounted fuel tank that holds 50 gallons. That results in a total fuel capacity of 162 gallons, which, combined with the proven Cummins 6.7-liter straight-six diesel and six-speed automatic, should give this truck the ability to cover distances of around 1,600 miles between fill ups when pulling a large trailer (think tri-axle).

Shitty mileage. I would get better than that with my thirsty powerstroke towing and my 5.9 was a lot better. But it's a cool concept.

Now that is fucking ignorant. Give me a business class freightliner with a real cab and capacity to make some cash. Airride cab/suspension FTW.

              I'd hate to fill it up 162gal *$4/gal = $648

Pull the same load with a gas truck, then see how that fuel bill works out for ya.

I pulled 8k lbs to Utah in my turd and knocked down 18mpg average, not bad for a 250k mile truck with a bad lift pump.

I know my gas truck can't haul the same load. Luckily I don't need it to.

Where do you draw the line between a pick up truck and an OTR truck? That thing is ridiculous.

Bad ass truck, personally think it is 100X better looking than Ford, but if it is really 100 grand they are fucking retarded.

9.8mpg with a tri axle 37k trailer behind it?? Does not sound too bad to me.

No way it will pull that off, maybe with the dpf off and the egr removed.

I've got a 08 crew cab 2500 dodge that gets less than 9.8 grossing 20-22k. Hell, my work truck is a 06 with a 5.9 and grossing out at right under 24k I don't get 10 mpg unless the ground is flat and there isn't a headwind. I've gotten as low as 8.8 mpg in my 5.9, and it is a 2wd.

I bet at 37 it gets right around 8.

At that point you should be in a conventional tractor/trailer instead of a pick up truck.
