                Carp is generally considered trash fish and not good for eating.

                  They are edible and actually quite tasty. These are not the normal carp you see around Texas, they are Asian carp, and the meat is actually white instead of all bloody. The main issue with them is that they are hard to clean, they have many pin bones and you cannot fillet them like a regular fish.

                          I always heard that too but wasn't sure why. There are a lot of people that think that about catfish too. I always heard the same about gar, but I have heard those can be good eating too. Apparently a lot has to do with the preparation. Like was already said, I think the carp has a lot of bones to deal with.
