That's where the genius of my plan comes in to effect.

Chevy makes 3 piece frames for their truck chassis to facilitate the different models CCSB, CCLB, EXCabLB and what not. The vertical cut was only a starter, The point where my finger is is the factory weld. I will cut the weld off and remove the 27" piece of rear frame from the front frame. Then the original front frame will slide 6 - 8 inches inside the rear frame and be welded just like factory. Once it's said and done and undercoated you'll never be able to tell that it was shortened and will be just as strong as stock.

Yep, I didn't want you to be driving down the road, hit a bump, and then the back half of your project go one way, and you and the front half go the other way.

Got the frame cleaned up and slid the front half inside the back half, next step is square it and triple check my measurements so it tracks straight.

How'd you end up getting that chassis down here?

I decided to go with a late model 3/4T chassis since it would be easier to mount the dmax, plus I get updated suspension too boot.
