                No hate here.

Bad ass project, and not an easy one I'm guessing.

Tearing the shit apart is the easy/fun part. Putting it back together is the staying up late at night, throwing shit at the walls, kicking over the nearest object, want to punt a kitten part.

                  Good luck.

                  I like this project.

Which Duramax motor are you planning on putting in?

Make sure you reinforce the frame where you cut it. Most people do a "Z" shape cut when cutting the frame.

This. I don't think I've ever seen anyone cut it straight down like that

Not sure, thinking about an LLy or an LMM.

That's where the genius of my plan comes in to effect.

Chevy makes 3 piece frames for their truck chassis to facilitate the different models CCSB, CCLB, EXCabLB and what not. The vertical cut was only a starter, The point where my finger is is the factory weld. I will cut the weld off and remove the 27" piece of rear frame from the front frame. Then the original front frame will slide 6 - 8 inches inside the rear frame and be welded just like factory. Once it's said and done and undercoated you'll never be able to tell that it was shortened and will be just as strong as stock.

                              LLY hands down.

LMM Is a good motor too, but you do have to deal with the DPF and EGR Components on those.

Can i not just delete the EGR and DPF?

It's not like I'm going to have to pass an inspection in a '72 Burb.
