It is not legal to kick someone's ass just because they are talking shit, lying, being disrespectful, etc.

Having a badge, having a bad day, or just being a dickhead doesn't give an officer the right to break the laws that everyone in our society is forced to live by.

As far as the payday, how again would you prefer him to get justice on the crooked cop? Since I couldn't legally kick the shit out of him, I would want him to be in financial ruin.

You think he isn't named in the lawsuit? Taxpayers will not be paying for HIS portion of the lawsuit.

      Don't be so naive.

That cop won't end up paying a buck. The only person is going to learn a lesson is the guy who got his ass whipped on how to get easy $. By no means am I defending the cop its just not about "making them understand".

You are right, it isn't about "making them understand". It is your only recourse. What else can the guy do? What would you suggest?

That would be like voting for Obama because I'm black.

I still know right from wrong, and in this case, it is obvious.

Instead of trying to pass judgement over a keyboard, try working the streets and making revenue for the corrupt court system.

It does to me, seem that the system is broken, this type of situation should really never happen any where at any time but or daily lives are now filled with it .

Law enforcements rebuttal is always " Tough, thank less job "

It didn't use to be ?

Police at one time were held at the highest level of respect ..But time after time the citizens being arrested for no reason , officers telling lies in court , breaking laws to enforce laws , police beating, shootings, etc ..

The public has no sense of how to react , we should not be affraid to be approached by one , or make eye contact fearing they have had a bad day and they and the fellow officers will stop you and deal out their form of street justice

Police departments thru-out the USA need to take a hard look on how to create a complete new outlook or the problem will only escalate further
                  What a skewed opinion.

This isn't just about law enforcement, it's about society as a whole.

How many teachers are assaulted each year?
How many cable repair men, ONCOR techs, McDonalds employees, etc. get assaulted or bullied because the general public has no concept of restraint or respect?

This isn't starting just because the police are setting the tone for society as a whole, give me a fucking break.

Damn, Forrest, I thought you knew better:

                    Sec. 9.31 Texas Penal Code:

(c)The use of force to resist an arrest or search is
                    justified:
(1)if, before the actor offers any resistance, the
peace officer (or person acting at his direction) uses or attempts
                    to use greater force than necessary to make the arrest or search;
                    and
(2)when and to the degree the actor reasonably
believes the force is immediately necessary to protect himself
against the peace officer ’s (or other person ’s) use or attempted use
                    of greater force than necessary.

How about a 30 day suspension? Hit someone for a month without pay and hours of remedial boring classroom training and it will get their attention.

                        Or, termination.

There was a law passed several years ago preventing officers from resigning under investigation or bad circumstances and getting hired on another department.

                        Google "Gypsy cop law"

Not personally, I used to work in the medical industry where its common place for people looking for hand outs. There's many of court cases where people win a settlement and never see a dime.

All of you FTP'rs need to join an MMA/BJJ gym. Almost every school around has an officer training there and you can beat them up in class and not go to jail. We've got 3 Garland police officers that I regularly get to abuse and choke the shit out of them.

would love to see the statistics on how many people resist excessive force and get away with it!

you know I'm not an FTP'er, but I have enough friends and family in law enforcement to get a good chuckle out of that!
