My buddies new Rx-8

My buddy just picked this up. 60k miles, 6spd, bone stock except for a magnaflow catback and a cat delete.

I've never driven an import, but I have to admit, it was pretty fun. It handled very very well. It wasn't incredibly fast, but I powershifted it pretty hard and chirped the tires through third. Shifting at 9000 rpms was a change too, sounds kinda like a superbike. He plans on doing a short shifter and a CAI.

Those have finally grown on me. Bad part of them is the gas mileage they supposedly get.

Great looking car I think (now) and all the mags love it for it's pure sports car manners.

Never driven a sports car import. My dad's CVT sentra doesn't count. I'm seventeen, I don't get to drive many cars lol

I worked for Mazda When these came out and was not impressed at all. The last Gen 7 turbo was prety cool

That's the only thing that's me from buying. They are going for 8-10 in good shape, but they are only rated at 18mpg or so...



But they are cheap enough to still consider it.

I taught my buddy stick on it lol He stalled it 5 or 6 times..... I'm 6'2 and I sat in the back seat. It's no worse than a 95-04 stang. The suicide door is what makes the backseat usable. lol. I do agree on the mod point though:

$300 for a short shifter
$500 for a chip
$300 for a Cai
$600 for exhaust

all for >20 hp lololol. The thing seems like it needs a gear swap, but I guess you don't/can't do that on that car. The car doesn't make power until 6k rpms and It has to wind up quite a bit. It's a six speed. Throw some 4.56's in there and wind that Fuckerrr up.
