It is actually my first bike. I bought it back in July-ish, but I work overseas, so I only rode around on it for 2 weeks while I was home on vacation in October. The highways aren't bad, but I prefer cruising around town even if it takes longer to get to my destination.
It is embarrassingly quite. Exhaust, intake, and tune is a must when I come home next time.
these were my last two bikes. '08 VRSCDX and 08 GSXR 600. full exhaust, filter, and tune on both.
...Wanna know the crazy part? I find myself thinking more and more about selling the Repsol and sticking to the woods riding with a few motard track days thrown in. My wife and I are expecting our first, a boy, in February and I finally feel myself growing up (a tiny bit). As I'm whizzing down the highway at breakneck speeds, I constantly think about my boy and he's not even here yet.
I always swore I would never sell my bike, that I wouldn't let kids 'change me', but I'm kinda ok with it. The speed junkie in me doesn't want to sell it, but the father-to-be side of me says get rid of it. I've still got the Fox body and the YZ450F to get my speed fix, so it's not like I'd be completely selling out. LOL....
Dude, I don't have a street bike for three reasons. My wife, and my two little boys. You ARE doing the right thing, so don't let anyone else tell you differently as it's very easy to say otherwise when you don't appreciate the level of responsibility that you've signed onto.
And again, absolutely gorgeous bike. The Repsol is without a doubt (IMO) the most beautiful street/track bike there is. And it's a Honda too.

You can always buy a badass Mustang...
Thanks for the reply. Your sentiments are the exact same as mine. It's just tough - sport bikes have been my 'thing' for 13 years. Many of my current friends were met at Sonic the first year it started. For that matter, I met my (now) wife at Sonic!! It would definitely be the end of a big chapter in my life, but not without justification, considering the son on the way. I want to be here to teach the kid to ride dirt bikes, drive a 5 speed Fox body, ya know? Fuck it. Time to start parting the old gal out... lol.
Oh, and I've got the Mustang part covered. Don't know if it meets the definition of badass, but it's fun for now (see Fox thread, and Classic thread for that matter).
