  • Restarting 1300R after sitting for 3+ years.

Hey guys, the title says it all.

I have a 2006 Hayabusa Limited that I bought new, and I have been at school for the past 3-4 years without running it. My dad took the trickle charger off to use for one of his cars, so I assume the battery is done. The oil was changed just a month or so before I stored it.

Any advice on getting it running again?

Probably will fire right up. I would drain any gas that was left in the tank, also change out the clutch/brake fluid, after four years there's probably water in there. Tires will also have flat spots after that long if it hasn't been on paddock stands

I'd change all fluids and get a new battery.

Change all fluids, spin the engine over by hand to make sure it isn't stuck.

I have it on the stands, but I am sure the tires are too old now. They are from 2006.

I've heard the engine turn over thing a few time now. How do I go about doing that?

I barely use it. I think it might have 6k miles. I only ride when the weather is 100% perfect. I use it as a pleasure only vehicle.

This. I wouldn't worry about trying to hand turn the motor. The motor isn't stuck.
