I know quite a few of yall have had the RC's. Mainly just want it because I think the America themed Edwards paint job is the coolest looking bike ever. I currently have a 2009 night rod special that I'll be keeping and the rc will be for solo rides. How does it honestly match up to say a cbr1000rr? Ive had a sv1000 and it was barely faster then a 600 inline4. Talk me out of it before i go and buy a 10 year old sportbike. lol

yeah... i did love my old cbr1000rr but at the same time realistically I didnt use 100% of the available power more then probably 25% of the time i rode it. Im either going to get the RC which has been my dream bike since high school, or get a zx14 or hayabusa and turn it into a hyper touring bike.

not a huge difference. lighter 6 spoke wheels, 32 bit ecu, larger throttle bodies, better swingarm, 12 hole injectors, judder spring in the clutch, and thicker brake discs are the main things.
the sp1 guys really only care to uprgrade to the sp2 swingarm and some guys will swap the throttle bodies.
sp1 exhaust is hard to come by
there was a guy in arlington that was selling a rc51 painted like the colin edwards bike
and that bike you posted has front mount rads which are $$

I almost bought the brand new 2005 RC51 that was on Craigslist a month ago. It was 7k and very tempting. Hell I went in KTM the other day and had to pry myself out the door from buying a RC8 at 13900. I went in to look at the 350x and 1000 R Polaris buggies but man I love the twins. I enjoyed my TLR about as much as any of my bikes, even the turbo ZX I had.Whos your Daddy?
