  • well, that was a first

Pulled into the beer store on the bike and a black Silverado pulls up next to me. Guy gets out and says "hey buddy can I check your vin?" I asked why. He says " I work with auto theft task force, and there's been a lot of stolen bikes and I noticed your custom paint" lol wut? Custom paint equals mismatched fairings.

Could have been a dick but I hate thieves (especially bike thieves) and he probably could have given me a ticket for no mirrors/inspection if he wanted to.

Glanced at my vin and said alright you're good it matches your plate. Wtf ooook

Drove off. He was obviously a police officer

He didn't, but he was dressed like one of those task force guys, gun, bunch of electronics in his truck, etc...

Really didn't feel like making a deal out of it, even though it was uncalled for.

It was ridiculous he didn't even run my vin (why come over to me then) and he said it matched my plate. Uh what?

        I love being white

He ran your plate, got your vin, then checked your bike for it. Probably just the last four or something.

no. i thought he was walking up to give me a ticket at first, because i might have been speeding down the service road.

although, the last 3 times ive been pulled over (in 5 months) ive been let go with a warning for not having a M endorsement. not all cops are so bad

Ive always wondered why cops are so cool about not having the m endorsment. I rode a year before i did my test. Cops didnt care.

Do the safety course and get an endorsement. At the very least it will save you on insurance.

Maybe. I learned something in the MSC that I never would have thought on my own. Saved my ass one day, too.

What not to do when your rear wheel locks up during braking.

let off the brake causing it to grip and kick the rear out?
