  • Helmets?

Any place around the Fort Worth are have a good selection of helmets? I have a large head (XXL) and I would like to find a fairly nice full face helmet. But I need to try them on Some fit well like Bell, others are either smashing my nose or like a vise . Would love a dual visor one. Any suggestions?

Try on at House of Motorcycles, buy at A&R Motorsports. Be sure to have someone measure your head to find the right size. A lot of people that think they need a XXL really needed a medium or large.

Thanks, LOL, you can't get my head in a large. Some helmets run small and that is where I get into trouble. The bell XXL helmets tend to fit just right. I can't wear a helmet if my head feels like it is in a vise. Been to 3 motorcycle shops locally. Pending brand, I am a XXL or if the run a tad small, XXXL (ICON) Head measurement is 24" which falls into a XL. But there is no way I could ride 5 minutes with out having a bad headache.

Your momma must have hated you.

It's more important to size the helmet to the SHAPE of your head more so then your size. Ie. scorpions are more oval shaped and arias (corsairs atleast) tend to be better or more round headed people.

Almost correct. Both shape and size are equally important. Too many people select a helmet based on what design they like instead of what is right for their head.

Arai, agv, shoei are what you want. The new bells are pretty good too. For local, hit up cycle gear and motoliberty

Cycle gear doesn't have shit in stock anymore except for those shitty Bilt ones.

And remember, the helmet should be tight (very tight, almost uncomfortable) at first. It will break in and if it's not tight enough at first then when you wear it a few times it will no longer be correct for your head and thus it cannot properly do it's job. The size and shape of your head is what's important, as well as the cooling on the helmet, not the design or brand name (although some are better than others).

Well, wound up getting an HJC FG Jet. Helmet. I sure hope it loosens up a little. The GF bought it for me, so I did not want anything too expensive and it just happen to be the closest fit

some of the helmets, you can exchange the helmet liner with other liners
