    Dont knock them unless you have tried them. I dont have apes but the few bikes I have ridden with them were extremely comfortable. I even thought about a set for my vrod just for the sake of comfort but they would look silly on there.

              Could try a different approach all together and go to a different hobby... I met a lot of cool people when I was into RC planes / heli's....

              But if mingling with the wealthy is the objective, then trust me on this one... Get your pilots license and go to fly ins.
