Luckily they all had gear. But they were swerving through traffic and the stretched one caught a car, which didn't stop after colliding.

Is that a boot or a fairing piece by the yellow bike.

Looks like the fairing air tube that goes into the frame/engine. Just the shape creeps me out.

It's not a boot.

It's the top of the fairing, the piece that has the airbox duct.
