Step 1: Buy a shitty bike (body damage is ok, don't buy something nice for your first)
Step 2: Buy some decent gear, you might need it.
Step 3: Have someone give you some pointers and practice in a parking lot.
Step 4: Take the MSF course. It is required for a M endorsement now.
Step 5: Make sure you have your M endorsement, insurance, current registration, and inspection.
Step 6: Take things slow for the first few months, don't allow yourself to develop a sense of false confidence after hearing stories like "I learned on a busa and nothing happened to me"
Step 7: ???????
Step 8: Get laid.
Step 9: ???????
Step 10: Dethrone the current Moto GP champ.

Don't get anything bigger than a 600 for your first bike... Trust me, they a faster than just about any car anyways. Take the MSF course, and wear your gear. Once you have the bike and basic gear, do some track days with Ridesmart (www. Ridesmart.info) and you will be way better than most squids out there.
If you're near little elm I can work with you and teach you some stuff.Originally posted by stevoNot a good idea to go Tim 'The Toolman' Taylor on the power phallus.
