  • My buddys new ZX14R, now with pics..

No pictures yet, tomorrow. He picked it up at CK this morning. I'll be going to ETX tomrrrow and snap some pics and help lay out the second color. They only had a black and blue one, so he bought the black one. He said it is a monster.

      -1993 Cobra- 700rw
      -2012 CTS-V- 9 second daily driver
-1991 Coupe- LSA/TT/4L80 in the making

I rode a couple a few years back when I was shopping for a bike, and I was really impressed.

Damn look at the size of those pistons!

His is a '12 ZX14R, I believe they got those balance shaft issues resolved, but hell you would know better than we would...

kawi zx 10's and the zx 14's have 2 balance shafts that weigh around 6 pounds total for the 2. It's only for rider comfort as all inline 180 degree 4 cylinder engines shake. The hayabusa i just had on the dyno sounded like the earth was coming to an end around 4200, but past that it all goes away, obviously we remove the balance shaft on those as well. It's so the rider doesn't feel the shake at highway cruise speed.

Better than i expected. Stock cylinder head, stock intake cam in the exhaust, reground intake cam and we added about a point of compression with stock pistons. This was an 06 and it made just shy of 200.

When you say CK do you mean Kawasaki of Carrollton?

I talked to him Saturday morning as well. He seemed very excited about it.

But tell him to keep full coverage on that bike!!!

Very nice. The little time I spent on them, I can say that's a "high-speed touring" sonuvabitch.
