I have heard the KTMs are ridiculously easy to work on, but parts availability concerns me, though I know literally nothing of them. I think that's why it concerns me.
I've always had Yami's, and have been out of the scene since about 2002.

These smaller pistons rarely do cylinder wall damage. I would get the bike if you can and order a top end kit and be done with it.
I found a fucking STEAL on a 04 pw50. Needed a new top end, for $300. After talking to some friends, and my brother and his three kids (they all ride), I decided to just spend a little extra coin and go with a 65 over a 50. Kid has only ridden once, and it was this past week on his cousin's 50s. They are about to step up, and to be honest, he'd be bored with it after a month. He is pretty quick to pick up on stuff, and by the last day he was riding, he was running around like he had been doing it all his life.Originally posted by BradMBut, just like condoms and women's rights, I don't believe in them.Originally posted by LeahIn other news: Brent's meat melts in your mouth.

As far as the PW50...my 3yr old rides one. Good for young kids to learn on.

Since when are you a parts snob?
From some reading, wiseco pistons are forged, and the pro-x are cast. A lot of the PWC guys (where i see most of the opinions) will run either wiseco sudco or pro-x, and stay away from WSM.
