bought 2002 yamaha R1. stolen 6 days later

it was in my apt parking garage. i had planned on buying a chain but didnt have time. and to be honest there's 8 other bikes in the same garage. all parked and are never messed with. based off that i didn't think it would get stolen. but nope, less then a week. there's a black GSXR that parks near where i did. never chained or anything. his never gets messed with.

Why the fuck would anyone with a remotely new sportbike, park it at an apartment?

a non-secured parking garage? you can blame yourself for that one...i guess after 9 years of not riding you forgot how it goes around here.

i do blame myself. bike was insured but still sucks. holding off on getting another one untill i move to a place with my own garage.
