  • LTZ 400 help

ok went riding a few weeks back, afterwards went a cleaned it. Started it up it ran for a few seconds back fired and died. Never would start again, rebuilt the carb, changed the plug, the damn thing still wont start. Turns over, has spark but will not fire. Is there anyone Local that would be willing to help me., or know of a shop that wont rape me?

Possibly got water in the exhaust when you cleaned it. If it hasn't been to long since you cleaned it check to see if your filter is damp or turn it over a few times ad pull the plug to check to see of the plug has any water on it

Have you tried starter fluid to rule out the carb?

I have not tried starter fluid, i will do that tomorrow.
It has been sitting for a week, nothing is wet, just really odd that it was running then washed it and now nothing..

go easy on the starting fluid, if it does not start on the first or second shot of it, stop. second, pull the plug wire and blow out the spark plug hole. those engines have a deep spark plug well and water sits in it. that is my bet, happened on mone a couple of times.

may have broke the woodruf key it will cause them to spark but not at the right time. check all timing marks is the first thing I would do.
