Mostly up for repo with a lien they can't pay off or not worth you paying off. Stolen too.
Either way, you can't get a title for those.
I have bought title-less bikes and got bonded titles for them, but it's a hell of a risk. I almost got burned on a 1000RR. Had a cop bud run the VIN as I was looking at it, came back clean, went to the main dps office in Carrollton and ran a bond packet on it the next day, no liens.
Before I could buy it the bike was impounded and I was going to try and either get it out or buy it when the impound auctioned it off. I had been talking to the same lady at the impound for a couple weeks and had given her my contact info. Eventually she says I should talk to Detective so and so. Call him up and he says the bike has been reported stolen. Seemed like insurance fraud to me, but I don't know.
If you're going to buy a bike without a title I would get everything set up to go through the day the money changes hands.
Bike needs to be clean with the bond packet, pass inspection for green sheet, have bond ready to go, and then head to the tax office all on the same day. Good Luck!
