There used to be a class for them. As far as I know Suzuki is the only ones who still make them but all the manuf used to make 750 class sport bikes.

For the little extra cash, I would go with the 1k. You can do a 1" lowering kit and unless your planning on dragging some serious knee your not going to notice it at all. Trust me...... . I'm 5' and weigh 140 lbs. I was on a 3" kit, never had an issue.

I took 2k yesterday and put it towards paying off my truck. I should be able to knock the rest of it, about 1400, out in July, and then I'm going to really start looking.

Decided it was probably the smarter thing to do.

Matt, did u sit on a Busa? Or kawa's zx14? Those are comfy bikes! Not as crimped up. Stretched out imo. Busa was the only "sport" bike I could handle for longer then 30 minutes.
