The GSXR seemed more comfortable to me. I was wanting a liter bike, but they sit up a little tall for me to be able to get my feet flat on the ground on them. I know I could drop one down, but I don't want to affect the suspension.

The 750, it fits me! It felt good to sit on, I could get my feet flat.

Also, I highly doubt that I would ever get full use of the potential of a 1000cc sport bike. That's scary speed, which I am sure the 750 can achieve as well.

Now to pay off the truck.
Excellent choice, I too love the stance and feel on the gixxers.

Oh and $5 says in a few months you will wish you had that 1000!

Eh I went from big bores to a 600 and couldn't be happier. Bigger isn't always better.

I started on a 1200 went to a 650 then to an 1150 then to 1300 and a 350 and now am on a 600. Again I've been happy with all sizes of bike.

Matt, did u sit on a Busa? Or kawa's zx14? Those are comfy bikes! Not as crimped up. Stretched out imo. Busa was the only "sport" bike I could handle for longer then 30 minutes.

Thats because it's a "Touring" bike that also hauls ass.

Aren't you a tall lanky dude? I'm probably wrong, lol, but I got the impression you were kinda tall.

I'm about 5' 9", without my boots on.

The 1000 sits up a little tall for me, I imagine the Busa would too.

The 750 is just right, but I'm concerned I'll be a year into it and decide to trade for a 1000.

My boss says he knows about lowering the bike without adversely affecting the suspension. I'm not sure.

There's no way to lower the bike without fucking up the geometry. you can set it up for your size and weight, but for gods sake dont lower the bike!

LOL! I just hate seeing strapped and lowered bikes.. if you can't flat foot a bike you probably shouldn't be riding it. (dirt aside)

I think you'll be happy as sin with a gsxr750, and the gear indicator is perfect for a squid.

Some of the newer gsx-rs have the ABC map performance mode shit too, may be good for a newer rider.

7th gear is a bitch. It was even more entertaining when I thought I was in 2nd and hammered down on the throttle... surprise mother fucker, 1st gear power wheelie!

Newer R1 and ZX10s too. I'm not sure if the Hondas do... at least my 08 CBR1000rr did not.

Yeah, I rode an 09 750, it was nice! Had the ABC map, A was fast as fuck, B was like a tame 600, and C was like a ninja 500.

It's possible. You have to raise the forks in the triple tree the same amount you drop the rear end. If you just drop the ass end it fucks up your rake and trail.

                                You also loose ground clearance.
