  • Went and sat on some bikes.

Im thinking I'm going to end up going with a Suzuki GSXR 750.

The GSXR seemed more comfortable to me. I was wanting a liter bike, but they sit up a little tall for me to be able to get my feet flat on the ground on them. I know I could drop one down, but I don't want to affect the suspension.

The 750, it fits me! It felt good to sit on, I could get my feet flat.

Also, I highly doubt that I would ever get full use of the potential of a 1000cc sport bike. That's scary speed, which I am sure the 750 can achieve as well.

Now to pay off the truck.

750s are great bikes. I had an 07 and my buddy has a 09 I think.

He has PC5, full exhaust, -1+2, and K&N and it's very quick!

I'm not a huge fan of doing aftermarket stuff to vehicles, mostly because I'm not a gear head and that's like translating egyptian hieroglyphs to me!

Although, I'll probably end up putting exhaust on it. I understand that the bikes are pretty restricted from the factory, so it has to help, right?

The most you'd really notice from a slip on is the noise. Stock exhausts look so terrible ><

Thanks! You'll love the 750. You can really throw them around!

Naw the enginerds have these engines pretty well figured out and wrung out pretty well. You can get a decent power bump if you do the exhaust AND have it dyno tuned at the same time but really you're already making pretty insane power for something that weighs 400 lbs. and it's gonna be pricey to go full exhaust and dyno tune for not a whole lot of gain.

10-15whp and a loss of 10-15lbs makes a pretty good difference on a bike.

It can if you can justify the expense for a full exhaust and dyno tune along with a PCIII or something similar for a 15hp bump.

                        15HP to a 400lb bike would ratio out to 112.5HP to a 3000lb car.

15whp seems like too much for full exhaust and tune though?

15 is on the high end. 10-12 is what most of the guys on the gixxer board were seeing.

Even if its only 10hp that is pretty significant considering those things prolly make 160hp stock.

Excellent choice. You're going to have a lot of fun on that bike.

I say 10hp is realistic, and I it has potential to make a real noticible difference in the mid-range, not necessarily just in peak hp gains. It's worth the money if you can swing it, but the bikes are already stupid-fast in stock trim, so it's not a necessity.
