  • Honda Vs. Suzuki......

Liter bikes. Anyone that knows about both the GSXR 1000 and the CBR 1000rr, chime in with thoughts, opinions, so on and so forth. I'm just looking for info, anecdotal or otherwise.

You need to ride both. I rode both when I first started and hated the positioning of the Honda and loved the way the gixxer rode and went Suzuki so your mileage may vary.

Gsxr1000 - top end power, lots of used parts out there due to everyone having a GSXR

Cbr1000 - usable midrange power, light, confidence builder in handling

      I like my CBR!

It seems that Honda has always had better handling characteristics, on dirt or street...

That is very debatable regarding street bikes.

honda has won 6 wsbk championships and suzuki has only won once...

that being said, i'd still pick a gsxr over a cbr..i do really like the 08+ cbr1k though

Do you think that has anything to do with factory support dollars?

no, that wasnt necessarily in response to you, just something i threw out there.

and the performance of these machines isnt really relevant to anybodies abilities in here either..

i think a new cbr would be faster around the track than a new gsxr though imo...more usable low end and midrange like skidmark stated

Try to get some seat time on both even if it's just sitting on them at the stealership. The modern sportbikes are so close in performance there's no point in arguing which one is best. The best one is the one that fits YOU the best.

Saying that it's always been my opinion that Honda had/has a higher level of refinement out of the Japanese bike manuf.

Bad argument. Ducati has pretty much owned wsbk and I'd venture to say their budget is slightly smaller than honda's. My .02

It wasn't an argument. It was a question.

In that case. No I don't think their budget has helped. Motogp is a different story but that's irrelevant in this instance.

I doubt there is but a handful of guys on this site that could put most modern 600's to the test on the track. I am not one of them either and I have had some monsters in my time, with some retarded mods.

Pick which bike your are most comfortable on. In the long run you will be happier with comfort VS a tiny bit of speed difference.
