Although the finish on the frame & swingarm makes the bike look cheap to me.

If I had one I would be the weirdo that disassembles a bike with a black frame to have it powdercoated black again and put it all back together, lulz.

I saw a MINT 02 red/blk here in Omaha just yesterday. Have also seen a perfect purple, neon yellow, white 95 900RR and a pretty clean yellow/black 98 900RR since I've been here. Couldn't tell you the last time I saw a clean 900RR in Dallas, 2002?

I had 2 pretty clean 900RR's once, both re-paints though, a 93 and 95. Any experience on the 04-07 1000RR (was scoping these out)? I haven't ridden or owned any of those years, just 900RR and 954RR.

04/05 and 06/07 are slightly different. If you really like that raw twitchy sort of responsiveness of the 954 you'll like 06/07 better.

The 04/05 is a bit longer and more smooth feeling. If you really like the 954 ride you might look into a first gen zx-10. It feels like the next progression (to me) of what a 954 was like.

It happens that I've had a 2004 ZX10R, so I can relate to that violent twitch I'm pretty stoked on the styling of the 04/05 and 06/07 1kRR, that was the main reason I looked at it, that and I've already had quite a few Honda's.

My old 954 was an 02, but I gather it and the 03 were pretty much the same bike. Didn't Honda do an electronic (or some other fancy) damper on these 1kRR's (04 -> ?). Know anything about that thing?

I can't imagine wanting anything more than my gangster-ass 954, but would still trade it in a minute for a clean ass '98-'99 double-R. I put about 40 miles on the 954 today, and it still does everything perfectly. Tons of torque, huge brakes...effortless.

I'm not all about peak hp. I like a bike that I feel confident on, and I've never ridden better than when I was on my 900RR's. My current supermoto is coming close though. That thing is redonkulously fun.

                    I would roll a 954 every day.

I miss mine all the time and haven't owned one in 3-4 years..

Had an 02 and an 03.. I put 53k on the 02. Out of all the bikes Ive owned those two were my favorite.

Yeah I had a silver and black 02 954 and that was a cool bike. It was almost like riding a dirtbike compared to my twins and other liter bikes. I still want another twin though just to screw around on. Cool thing about a bike is for 13k you can destroy almost any car on the road. LOL

The newer (08+) CBR is hands down my favorite bike. I'd trade one for my R1 without much thought.
