I use to use Shell Rotella purple bottle from walmart. Cheap, synthetic, and was recommended to me by the hardcore ST1300 and 1100 riders. worked great for me!
until march of '07, rotella was a great oil and stuffed full of zinc. The EPA put an end to that madness with the converters now found on diesels. Now Rotella acts more like ATF in that it's just full of detergents.
