Like I said though, putting down the kick stand will trigger most of the older systems. The stands are usually steel and putting them right on the pavement will usually trigger the sensor. At least in my experience it works well.
Sad thing is I put the kickstand down. Walked over to the cross walk and pressed that. Was the only way I would go. Lol

^^^^ this. I just park the bike walk over and press the cross walk button. If it's a light I have to cross like one I pass going to work I just report it to the city and take the persons information I talk to like first last name position etc and record time and date and do it like once a week. They never fix it but if some cop wants to pull me over I have a log to take to court of how many times the city has been notified of a signal that is not functioning for motorcycles. Has worked before judge could not belive I had a log going back 6 months with all that info dismissed it on the spot.

Sec. 544.0075. CERTAIN TRAFFIC-ACTUATED ELECTRIC TRAFFIC-CONTROL SIGNALS. (a) This section applies only to a traffic-actuated electric traffic-control signal that consists of a traffic-control signal for which the intervals vary according to the demands of vehicular traffic as registered by a detector and that is installed and operating at an intersection.(b) In addition to any other type of vehicle the presence of which the detector for the traffic-actuated electric traffic-control signal may register, the detector for a traffic-actuated electric traffic-control device to which this section applies must be capable of registering the presence of a motorcycle.

And if they dont, it is legal to run it? Where does it say that?

That is just below the section talking about who and what must stop for traffic lights. If they are not functioning properly then they are not legal traffic control devices for motorcycles.

About four years ago we had an update and they stressed the fact that if the light is not working properly you can run it on a motorcycle. No specifics on how many cycles or anything just that if it wasnt functioning. I swear it is worded better somewhere though.

Now all that being said, we know good and well you could still get cited by some asshole cop that just wants to be a dick. Then you would just have to pull up with your motorcycle and video camera, film it for a few cycles, then take it to court. It is kind of a catch 22. LOL

i put one of those magnets under my bike and it did help at some lights, but like others have said riding up right on the line and putting the kickstand down helps a bunch too

some of them just plain wont pick up a bike and after about 15 seconds if there is no traffic i just ride through
