They're pretty well built, but watch for cracking around the swing arm mounts. My Python had that problem. Freaked me out so I traded it for a TC.

Since mine is a soft tail I wonder if I will have that same problem?

Didn't even think about yours having suspension. Hopefully it won't be an issue. Mine was early too, '99 model.
